Ambler YMCA Strong Kids Campaign
On February 7, 2004 our family suffered a horrific tragedy, which has no rival. That day, my son, a husband and father of two small children, succumbed to a brain aneurism. As his life was snuffed in an instant, our family was catapulted into ream of sadness. While there was no magic potion or quick cure that could ease our pain and suffering, certain things helped chip away at the darkened cloud which enveloped us. The loss of my son left our family spiritually and economically drained, but the YMCA stepped in and was there for us. The Y provided camp and after school programs for my grandchildren, granted financial assistance and offered moral support to our family. The YMCA’s support provided a much needed ray of light that helped to chip away the darkness that enveloped us and start us on our healing process. Thank you YMCA for being there for us both as a refuge and a mentor for my grandchildren.

The YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity
Strong Kids Campaign: Building Future Leaders
Every child deserves a chance to succeed and at the YMCA we focus on engaging kids in programs that help them to grow into strong adults. Early childhood education, before and after school care, Y Achievers, The Saturday Fun Club, and Leaders Clubs help children develop a lifetime love of learning and instill the YMCA character values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Caring. Financial limitations prevent children from engaging in YMCA programs. Each year volunteers raise dollars to ensure that every child is afforded the opportunity to reach his or her full potential, regardless of financial circumstances.
